Yamaha PSS-51 Portasound Keyboard - Tutorial
Hello everyone.
In the next 4 videos I will be showing you everything that is on the Yamaha PSS-51 Portasound Keyboard released in 1992.
I have got this Keyboard at a local second hand music shop when it was still around back in November 2011 for £20 which I think was a bargain for this Keyboard!
Back in the day this was the best sounding Keyboard considering its size, it didn't have the FM Synthesis like most small Yamaha Keyboards had, it had a sound source called AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) in which the full size Keyboards had back then and still do now.
There were 2 more Keyboards that were small and had the AWM sound source back then, they are the PSS-790 released in 1990 which I've done videos of years ago, and there was the PSS-590 which I think was released in the same year, the PSS-590 was a smaller version of the PSS-790 with only 4 octaves, and it didn't have as many features such as Vector Synth etc, there was another one I forgot to mention which was exactly the same as the PSS-790 called the PSS-795 which had a different color casing and the drum pads were a black color and not blue like the PSS-790 drum pads.
On this video, I'll be doing a Tutorial of the Yamaha PSS-51 going through the Functions & Features and showing you how to use the different Functions & Features so you can get to know how to use the PSS-51 if you have this Keyboard or are thinking of getting one.
Enjoy!
