You Are God is a pretty interesting looking "God Game" that is in early development. In it you control a planet from afar trying to encourage your developing people to advance their civilization to the stars. Or just find interesting ways to kill everyone if you want to be that sort of god.

There is currently a kickstarter that has already exceeded it's goal but there are still some stretch goals that could make the game even better if you've got a few bucks and want to get some nifty contributor rewards: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1762414407/the-god-sim

This demo is not currently available unless you donate to the kickstarter but if you ask nicely on facebook there is a chance they'll give you a key.
