He can be negotiated to lower the price of the map from $10 dollar to $5 dollars.
In case he's scared away, robbed or killed by accident, and his map isn't collected, it can be bought from any Fence in the game for $1.
Máximo can also become a witness if the player commits a crime in the area.

Máximo's mount is a Blue Roan Nokota.
