Here’s a quick guide on how to set up and use the StreamElements chatbot for YouTube:

1. Log into StreamElements
Go to the StreamElements website.
Log in using your YouTube account credentials. Click on join chatbot and add a yours chat overlay.

2. Make the StreamElements Bot a Moderator
To ensure the bot can manage chat and respond to commands:

Go to YouTube Studio.
On the left sidebar, go to Settings - Community.
Under Moderators, type StreamElements (or choose from the list that appears), then hit Save.

By adding "StreamElements" as a moderator, the bot will have the necessary permissions to interact with your chat, respond to commands, and perform other functions on your YouTube stream.

You only need to add *one* "StreamElements" bot as a moderator for your YouTube channel.

If you see multiple "StreamElements" entries, select the one that looks like the official bot (typically, it should have the "StreamElements" name with the proper branding or profile picture associated with the service). Adding just one is sufficient to grant the necessary permissions for the bot to operate in your chat.

3. Connect StreamElements to Your YouTube Channel
After logging in, make sure StreamElements is connected to your YouTube account. If it’s not, you should be prompted to authorize access.

Ensures that only one YouTube account retains access to StreamElements, reducing conflicts with the bot.

Step 1: Log into Your Google Account
Go to myaccount.google.com.
Sign in with the Google account linked to your YouTube brand account.
Step 2: Go to the Security Settings
In the left-hand menu, click on Security.
Step 3: Find Third-Party Apps with Account Access
Scroll down to the Third-party apps with account access section.
Click on Manage third-party access.
Step 4: Review Apps with Access
You will see a list of all third-party apps and services that have access to your Google account.
Look for StreamElements in the list.
Step 5: Remove Access for Extra Users
For each instance of StreamElements that you want to revoke access to:
Click on the app name (StreamElements).
Click Remove Access.
Confirm when prompted.
Step 6: Ensure Only One Account Has Access
Make sure that only the designated YouTube account or the single instance of StreamElements remains authorized.
Step 7: Verify the StreamElements Bot
After removing the extra access, check if the StreamElements bot works correctly during a live stream by testing a command like !commands in the chat.
