Today, YouTube launched its rather interesting monetization policy changes, seeking to address the large percentage of junk created by generative AI or low-effort content.

For at least a year now, almost all platforms that offer short-form vertical content, such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and of course YouTube, have seen a number of videos created by prompts, even read by generative voices. Due to the number of views, these videos generate a percentage that detracts from creators who offer real content.

This extends widely to the repurposing of clips from a video without fundamental changes or even to channels that are 100% reactions to other content, without adding anything else.
