Single whirlwinds are faster than chaining them, you can tell by the HP I have left after I exit the room (76 vs. 67). Edit: After further testing, I believe chaining 8 whirlwinds (triple, triple, double) is still slower than doing 7 singles; I have more trouble keeping 76HP that way. Chaining 9 whirlwinds is when it becomes faster than 7 singles, though.
