So this is a game I have a bit of history with. Multiple times trying to play through this in the distant past, each met with dreadful ends at one point or another. Then around the start of this year I finally wrestled my way through. And I wound up streaming it finally, and... Admittedly? The barrier of knowledge of how to handle all of the harshest bits of the game, and how to handle modern Ys games in general, and I actually like it now. I'd still say it's pretty unfriendly to new players, but return plays? Not too bad.

I also never realized how much this game offers context to the events of other games in the series, and how much they offer back. It's like a puzzle; the more you work at the bigger picture, the more you understand. Just a bit of a shame we always got the games in such limited and disorderly fashions, like how there is no localized release of 5, and we never got 4 until the remake so we never had context for that. And how there are like, 2 divergent developments that were both 4 with the same setting but different dev teams and stories?

Just makes things all the more mysterious, I guess. Since you, basically have to experience them out of order, especially if you didn't have access to the originals when they were newer.
