Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist Link Evolution
Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL Campaign Part 1
Are you all ready to fell the flow? I sure am! Time now for the fourth series, Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL. Compared to GX and 5D's, this series centers on Xyz Monsters. It would come to Japan in April 2011 and in the US, six months later mostly since Konami wanted to promote more cards.
The series takes place in the world of Heartland City and our protagonist is Yuma Tsukumo. During a duel with Reginald aka Ryoga Kamishiro, he encounters a mysterious being named Astral. Together they use their power to unlock Number 39: Utopia aka Hope, the King of Wishes. Upon defeating Reginald aka Shark, the two go through many adventures all while seeking out the 100 Number Cards in the hopes of restoring Astral's memories.
I only have one gripe with ZEXAL and it's the protagonist. In my opinion, I find Yuma to be the most annoying, at first, especially in the English dub. The Japanese dub, I did kind of like but he was annoying. As time went on, Yuma would develop more as a character and he grew to being just as good as the others that came before him. Not to mention Xyz Summoning offered something different to the game. The series would last from 2011 to 2014 with 146 episodes, making it the shortest series... until VRAINS came around. Unlike GX and 5D's, every episode was dubbed into English. Thank god. However Vortexx came to an end in September 2014, ending with it the Saturday Morning cartoon block. All future episodes would be released in English at Yu-Gi-Oh's official website.
In my honest, I prefer the Japanese dub because it was one of the only shows that was split. The first three arcs were ZEXAL with the fourth arc onwards being ZEXAL II. That's surprising. There will only be three duels covered because this is where I'm going to end up having my mind break in two.
We will continue forth in Part 2.
