Yule: The Return of the Light
0Yule celebrates what is known as "the return of the light". This particular sabbat coincides with the Winter Solstice (usually around December 21), which is the darkest day of the year. Each day moving forward brings more and more light until Ostara (usually around April 20th) at the Spring Solstice, and the Earth is fully reawakened by Mother Gaia.
Yule is a time of stillness and dormancy, but it also represents a knowing that a rebirth is yet to come. It says that even through the most bitter winter, the flower's beauty is guaranteed to show itself in the spring.
