The Cutscenes you are watching on this video series, have been upscaled and processed with AI software for a better viewers experience, taking as source directly the .bik files compressed in the .mix files from real original CD's. These .bik's were too compressed and the resolution/fps was too low, only 800x600/15fps with 4:3 aspect ratio, so they would look blurry in nowadays displays. I upscaled them to a more proper Reso/FPS but, however, this time I have preferred to respect the original 4:3 aspect ratio. Unlike the Tiberian Sun cutscenes which are presented in a more cinematic format 8:5, the Red Alert 2 cutscenes were fully recorded in a more old TV sized format that makes alot harder to convert them to panoramic style 16:9 without making the characters look highly disproportionated and horizontally stretched. I highly advice to turn on the 4k on your YT player if you are watching on a big screen. I hope you like it and tell me your thoughts in the comments.
Command and Conquer: Yuri's Revenge is a Real Time Strategy PC game that was released in October 9, 2001, and it's the official expansion to Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 (2000). Developed by Westwood Studios, the game offers two factions to play with in campaign, The Allies and The Soviets, and both are fighting vs a common enemy faction (Yuri Country) which is playable in skirmish mode only. Red Alert 2 | Yuri's Revenge uses the same game engine as it's predecessor Tiberian Sun, but with a lot of improvements and a host of enhacements to improve the players experience. The storyline follows after the end of the WW3 amongst the Allies and the Soviets, taking Yuri, former advisor of premier Romanov of the USSR as the main character and villain. Apparently, Yuri, being not happy of how things turned out, established a secret army at his own using his mind control technology and he's decided to conquer the entire globe. The soundtrack, how not, was composed and recorded by the great Frank Klepacki who knew how to keep the essence of the Red Alert universe. Possibly Westwood's greatest release in the RTS genre. Nowadays this game has not been released as freeware like the older games, but you can purchase it on Steam or in the EA desktop app for a very reasonable price.
