For all your Lynel farming needs in BOTW, here's how I suggest you face these guys. All you need is Stasys+, a weapon and a bow.

-For the weapon, a Ancient Battle Axe++ is awesome paired with the ancient proficiency bonus from the ancient armor. If you don't have the armor, use your most powerful weapon (don't worry it won't break)

-For the bow, a multi-shot bow is preferred to have a higher chance of scoring a headshot on the Lynel, but really if you're good at aiming any standard bow will do.

Step 1) Stasys the Lynel
Step 2) Shoot it in the head
Step 3) Get close and shoot it in the head again when he stops shaking it. This is vital to understand.
Step 4) Mount the Lynel and mash Y.
Repeat as needed.

It is important to know that the Lynel has two stun states: a short one and a long one. The short one happens when he's headshotted while in stasys, the long one happens when he's headshotted while NOT in stasys. Only the long one allows the Lynel to be mounted.
