I can’t believe it took me over a year to complete this game but I finally got around to it. I did take a long time to get to the end – over 260 hours. But I am planning to do the game 100% so I have many more hours left. The end fight could have been a lot cleaner with the second Ganondorf form. I completely forgot about parrying as was too obsessed with trying to get a fury rush and failing. So, I eventually cheesed him with a 3x bomb arrows.

Breath of the Wild shocked me at how it could be so much better than any other open world game, then Tears of the Kingdom did the same thing to BOTW. The number of improvements made to it, make it a far superior game again, and I don’t thing I could play BOTW now.
The power ups are genius. The building/ sticking mechanics are extraordinary, and I love the ceiling warp move.
I can’t believe that people moan that this is like a DLC. It’s far too accomplished. It’s like they added a new BOTW to BOTW.
Not only did they add a whole sky section, they introduced the depths as the same size of the overworld, and also caves to make the use of the space that the mountains took. Oh, and wells to for good measure.
Personally, I thought BOTW was too big, and this suffers from the same problem, but tripled. But the quality-of-life improvements like being able to build a hover bike, can make the experience a lot quicker and as a result, not be such a drag like BOTW was when you had to run everywhere to properly explore.
This game is an incredible achievement. A true masterpiece. Probably the best game ever made, and would never have been possible if it didn’t build upon the last best game ever made.
