Previously, Link went to Greatfish Isle. Ganon's forces had devastated the island, but Jabun had escaped to Outset Island. Then, Link pursued Tetra's pirates to Windfall Island. The pirates stole Bombs from the Bomb Shop, so Link relieved the pirates of a few. Now, Link will return to Outset Island to meet Jabun.
Windfall Island:
Link resumes on Windfall Island. He chats with a couple NPCs on the island that he did not talk to last time.
At the dock, Link conducts the Wind's Requiem and makes the wind blow southwest. Then, he sets out southwest.
Tingle Island (time 3:39):
One square south and one square west from Windfall Island, Link finds the square with Tingle Island. He baits the Fishman for the local chart and information. Afterwards, Link continues southwest. He skirts the Cyclops Reef square to the south and then enters the Greatfish Isle square to the west. Then, he adjusts the wind and turns south. He goes through the Islet of Steel and Five-Eye Reef squares.
Outset Island (time 9:51):
A scene takes place when Link approaches the island. The King of Red Lions comments on the strange night. Link should check in with his family.
He regains control on the Outset Island dock. His first stop is his house. He talks to his Grandma, but she does not seem to be doing well. She needs a Fairy. If you do not have one, I am about to show where Fairies can be found.
Link uses a bottled Fairy to heal her. This triggers a cutscene. She gives him a bottle of Elixir Soup! This delightful stuff restores life and magic, and it also doubles Link's attack power until he suffers a blow. A full bottle of Elixir Soup has two helpings.
Afterwards, Link chats with some of the village's NPCs. He will save Orca for a little later. For now, he takes the path up to the Forest of Fairies. Past the tree barrier, look out for some Miniblins.
Note that the bridge to the Forest of Fairies is still out. Atop the eastern hill, Link climbs onto the gray rock. He sets the wind to blow west and then glides west with the Deku Leaf. Then, he enters the Forest of Fairies.
Forest of Fairies (time 20:23):
There are now enemies such as Mothulas and Moblins in the Forest of Fairies. Not far in, Link finds the Fairy Fountain site. He uses a Bomb to blow away the boulder. Then, he drops down the hole to a fairy fountain.
In the fountain, he takes a pictograph of the Fairy floating. When he approaches the fountain, a scene takes place with the local Great Fairy. She upgrades his wallet so that he can now hold up to 1,000 Rupees! Excellent. The Rupee symbol on the HUD changes to purple.
When the Great Fairy departs, Fairies appear in the fountain. If Link still needs one to heal his Grandma, he can scoop one up in a bottle now.
Link departs the fountain. Then, he exits the Forest of Fairies.
Outset Island (time 24:01):
Link sets the wind to blow northwest and then glides down toward the western part of the village. He talks to the King of Red Lions. Then, he saves on the dock.
Next, Link enters Orca's place. Orca challenges him to a training duel. Link must deliver as many blows as possible to Orca before Orca hits him three times. If Link can hit Orca 100 times, Orca will reward him with a Purple Rupee, worth 50 Rupees. For 100 hits, Link will earn an Orange Rupee, worth 100 Rupees. For 500 hits, Link will earn a Piece of Heart. For 999 hits, Link will earn a Silver Rupee.
Obviously, the Heart Piece is the main reason to do this. Using the parry command when Orca is about to attack is the best way to go. Link should try to stay away from the walls so he doesn't accidentally run into them during a parry. This challenge is tedious but not especially difficult.
After delivering 500+ hits, Link lets Orca finish him off (time 47:37). Orca rewards Link with Piece of Heart #16! Link now has a total of nine Heart Containers.
When Link has ten Knight's Crests, he can return to Orca to learn a new skill.
Outside, Link checks the postbox. After Link has helped his Grandma, he can receive an unsolicited letter. An Empty Bottle, a Piece of Heart, and a Treasure Chart are now available at the Shop Ship near Rock Spire Island. Enclosed in the letter is a Green Rupee, worth a not-so-whopping one Rupee. Afterwards, Link saves on the dock.
Next, Link sets out for Jabun's cave.
The description is continued in the comments.
