Previously, Link explored the southeastern part of the Great Sea for treasures, including Pieces of Heart. Now, he will continue into the southwestern part of the sea in search of more goodies.
Headstone Island:
Link resumes off the coast of Headstone Island in the square just east of Outset Island. He conducts the Wind's Requiem and makes the wind blow north so he can reach Headstone Island quickly. After disembarking, he uses a Hyoi Pear to take control of a Seagull. On the island's highest point, he grabs Piece of Heart #11! After flying through it, he cancels flight.
Then, Link takes a pictograph of a Seagull.
North/northwest of Headstone Island, Link finds an enemy sub in the same square. He drops in to find an infestation of Bombchus, Rats that carry Bombs. The wretched rodents will try to blow Link up. Link uses the Boomerang to deal with them. He also takes a pictograph of a Rat before defeating all of them.
After exterminating the Rats, Link climbs the newly appeared ladder to open a chest for Treasure Chart #14.
Link departs the sub. After making the wind blow west. he boards the King of Red Lions and sales westwards.
Outset Island (time 6:41):
At Outset Island, Link baits the local Fishman for additional information. He stops in at Beedle's Shop Ship to stock up on both types of bait.
Afterwards, Link makes landfall on Outset Island. He conducts the Song of Passing to make morning come. Then, he saves. Afterwards, he sets sail westwards.
Horseshoe Island (time 11:34):
Horseshoe Island is in the southwestern square of the Great Sea. Near the aptly named island, Link baits the Fishman for the local chart and information.
From the boat, Link takes a picture of Old Man Ho Ho, a guy looking through a telescope on the western side of the island. Old Man Ho Ho can also appear in other places.
Then, Link makes landfall in the southeast of Horseshoe Island proper. There, he plays a golf-like minigame. There are three holes in sequence. Link must get a nut into each hole by throwing the nut and/or propelling the nut with a gust from the Deku Leaf. This will get rid of the vines that block Link's way. A Blue ChuChu appears near the second hole. After Link clears the third hole, a chest apears on the small southern island between the arms of Horseshoe Island.
However, before trying to reach the chest, Link drops into the hole in the southwest. In the cave, Link must defeat two wingles Mothulas and a Winged Mothula. Irritating insects. Fortunately, the Boomerang is a big help.
After defeating all the Mothulas, Link opens the new chest for Treasure Chart #08. Link pops it open.
Link resurfaces. He conducts the Wind's Requiem to make the wind blow east. Then, he uses the Deku Leaf to glide to the island between the two arms of Horseshoe Island. He opens the new chest for Treasure Chart #28. Yay!
Link returns to the King of Red Lions. After setting the wind to blow north, he sails in that direction.
Diamond Steppe Island (time 23:00):
Diamond Steppe Island is in the square north of Horseshoe Island. As usual, Link baits the Fishman for the local chart and information.
Link has treasure Chart #23 for clearing Salvatore's Sinking Ships in less than 20 cannon shots. West of Diamond Steppe Island itself, Link can dredge up a chest with Piece of Heart #12. Link now has a total of eight Heart Containers!
Afterwards, Link continue sailing north.
Needle Rock Isle (time 26:42):
Needle Rock Isle occupies the square north of Diamond Steppe Island. Link first baits the Fishman for the local chart and information.
Then, Link lands on Needle Rock Island. Kargarocs infest this place, so be careful. Link uses a Hyoi Pear to take control of a Seagull. The Seagull can evade the Kargarocs fairly well if you keep tapping A. At the top of the needle spire, the Seagull hits the switch. This douses flames around a chest at the southern end of the island.
After returning to himself, Link opens the chest for Piece of Heart #13! Yeah!
There is a Korok with a withered tree near this chest. Link must help this tree with Forest Water, as well.
Link saves after making this progress. Then, he boards the King of Red Lions. He conducts the Wind's Requiem to make the wind blow east and then sets sail towards the Forest Haven.
Islet of Steel (time 33:36):
The Islet of Steel is just east of Needle Rock Island. Link bears southeast.
The description is continued in the comments.
