Zenith CRT TV power supply squeak
Zenith TV from 1989 that will be subject of an upcoming video (as well as 2 more TVs and random stuff in between) I think the power supply is about to fail. I found a 1995 Magnavox that constantly made that sound when i turned it on and it wouldn't really power on and there was no HV. The problem was a bad Nichicon PR series 105c 100uf 200v capacitor that was cooked til it started leaking.
So far nothing is wrong with the TV (other than jail bars on the left, but the TV is functional) i'm going to recap the whole thing. Probably do the same thing with my 1981 Samsung, it has them really bad plus the audio circuitry is also bad.
The 1983 General Electric has jail bars too, but they don't really bother me though the picture is a bit soft even after turning the sharpness up all the way and refocusing. I did a bit of the research and people have been saying it's a capacitor along the b+ line. I'm going to buy another Zenith, one from 2004 that looks like it is from 1994 minus the newer logo. Looks to have been a hotel TV.
