Zip your way through this immersive ecotourism experience
Located in the beautiful Redwoods, "Alliance Redwoods" is home to Sonoma Zipline Adventures and Outdoor Education. In fact, the non-profit organization provides a 125-acre outdoor classroom for students to learn and grow during camp.
"I love just walking this property and listening to the sounds of the kids laughing, I love the sound of kids being outdoors and being active," said Jim Blake, the executive director of Alliance Redwoods.
"The overall experience is to help encourage one another to kind of grow as a person and to grow in confidence. And also, just have fun," added Emma Henderson, an outdoor educator for Alliance Redwoods. "That's a big part of what we do out here is to have a lot of fun."
The organization focuses on outdoor education for public and private schools amongst the majestic Redwoods.
"They’re looking at crawdads, and they’re doing geology, and face painting," described Blake. "We’ve got a reptile center, and so they’re learning through hands-on experiential learning in the outdoors."
Sonoma Zipline Adventures generates revenue to support Alliance Redwoods to help fund at-risk youth organizations. Sonoma Treehouse Adventures is another way to raise money to help provide camp to low-income and at-risk youth.
