My understanding of this game's success had it pinned to the inclusion of a Metal Gear Solid 2 Demo Disc. That was it.
Now that I've played it though, this game was awesome, and immediately made me want to check out the sequels. I was expecting a sort of tactical mech battler, but it's an action RPG with a bit of non-linear gameplay. The highly detailed visuals of the mechs and battles are a bit at odds with the anime style of the characters, but that's a minor blow to an otherwise impressive game.
