I have cousins in Disney, so I decided to try out the free app in Facebook Gameroom. I know how they storyboard and some of the techniques they use to make really great kids movies and tv shows and I wanted to see how that translated to video games.
It works great! Most adventure/detective games fall flat because they're just seek and find. Zootopia Crime Files lets you play the main characters, first person and explore the world from a police detective's perspective. Nick Wilde (the fox) heads up an investigation of arson around the city and tracks a mysterious crime lord.
Point and click is there, but they also use mini games and introduce characters to advance the plot. In fact the only thing missing is character development- and most people will be familiar with the characters from the movie. Still, we'd love a little more backstory on Judy Hopps and Nick, and we hope it shows up later in the story. Two thumbs for kids.
