Various pictures converted to GigaScreen format from Amstrad CPC demo scene and photos.

Using a real ZX Spectrum 128k you will need ZX-HD, ZX-VGA-JOY or monitors with a deinterlace button for flicker free display. Emulators like Unreal Speccy, ZXearUX and Retro Virtual Machine can show it flicker free with the correct setup.

GigaScreen ZX Spectrum screen:
The attributes (colours) of an image are alternated at 50 Hz on the screen. This way, the palette is increased to approximately 36 colours. This screenmode is based on the fast changing of 2 (specially prepared) images. It's possible to switch screen per scanline and thus mix the screens, but this is very CPU intensive and needs exact and steady timings.
