About Doom TAS Archive
This channel aims to post every Tool-Assisted Speedrun demo for Doom found on https://dsdarchive.com.
Descriptions include the demo .txt file, viddump details, PWAD links, the relevant IWAD, and the demo file link. Text files occasionally contain mistakes by the author and may also include dead links. They are left as-is, with the intention to preserve archival accuracy.
Demos are occasionally beaten and beat other demos & these will occasionally be listed in a pinned comment, but will often be missed as the archive is very large and this is very difficult to keep track of.
TAS demos differ quite widely in quality. Sometimes low-effort demos are of a quality of play lower than is achievable by a human player (and indeed, TASes are occasionally beaten by non-TAS runs), and sometimes optimised built demos truly push the game engine to its limits. This channel makes no attempt distinguish the two or to judge the quality of a demo - all TASes have value!
