About Mega Drive Codex
The Mega Drive Codex is a hardware-accurate audio preservation archive for the SEGA Mega Drive (known as the SEGA Genesis in North America).
Every recording on this channel is captured directly from real hardware. A Model 1 VA6 PAL Mega Drive with a Triple Bypass v2.1 mod and Mega Amp 2.0 audio circuit, captured at 96 kHz / 24-bit through a Motu M2 interface. The masters are processed only as much as the source demands, with corrective changes anchored in measurement, not preference. MDFourier is the diagnostic standard.
No ROM rips. No emulator captures. No community sources used as reference unless their provenance is verified.
The archive will eventually cover every PAL Mega Drive soundtrack ever released, plus VHS captures of contemporary advertising and ephemera. Each game is uploaded as a complete soundtrack playlist with full metadata, accurate composer credits, and consistent presentation.
Preservation-focused. No commentary, no monetisation. Just the recordings.
