I never played Skyward Sword. In fact, it’s the only 3D Zelda game I haven’t played. So despite the reputation the game has for its motion controls, I grabbed it on the Switch.

And yes, I can confirm that — FOR ME (your mileage will vary!) — the motion controls suck. In fact, the controls in general are clunky and take some real getting used to.

But the setup is great and the Zelda/Link friendship sold the plot to me easily.

Here, then, is my very first look at a game that I’ve managed to avoid spoiling anything for myself about for over a decade!
