I had such high hopes for this new save, which is maybe mean because I think this save is great, but damn it we spent more of this portion of this 10 hours stream just dealing with my first Lair mission. And Fuck I was not prepared. I assumed it was just going to be a harder Nest, which I guess wasn't wrong. The basic idea is that we had to explore the map to find a Spawnery, then kill it. That wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the enemies that just kind of get to spawn ad infinitum and the freaking Sirens!

It really feels like I was not supposed to do a Lair this early because of the Sirens. They have enough armor on the torso to ignore damage from folks with assault rifles and their ability to mind control multiple units is frankly absurd, but I think part of their point is to make me change up my tactics, that's just hard when I'm kind of locked into a nest and can't change stuff up until the mission ends.

My complaints about the first Lair mission aside, I would honestly suggest checking out Phoenix Point, even if Phoenix Project makes way more sense as a name. But still, if you'd like to check it out maybe think about using our Humble affiliate link.
