During my trip to Japan I decided (as a food connoisseur) that I need to try the famous "Japanese Wagyu Beef". Odd part about my search for Kobe beef was that I found out that the city of Kobe (ie Getting off at the Kobe Station) does not have any restaurant that sells Kobe Beef. I found this out after 2 hours while trying to find a restaurant that I had looked up beforehand.

The restaurant I went to is called Itoh Dining. There were 2 other restaurants I had planned to go to in case they happened to be either full or sold out. All of which are located outside of the Sannomiya JR station. This video is basically what happened when I got to sit and find out about Kobe Beef.

When you hear the tales of Japanese Kobe beef, you start imagining what it's like, but I can tell you that it was better than I anticipated. It also cost a LOT of money. I was luckily there for Lunch, so I got the special Lunch time pricing. Since I am saving some money, I thought I should get the W Size upgrade (basically 50% more beef). The big piece is the normal size serving. The smaller parts are the W size upgrade.

There are a few things I should say for most Americans:
1. Genuine Wagyu Beef is MUCH better than the Americanized "Kobe Beef".
2. In terms of Flavor, it's beef. You can only flavor beef so much. This has the same "taste" as American Kobe Beef. Still better than most normal beef, but still just beef. The texture and the WAY you eat it is MILES different.
3. If you get the opportunity to go to Japan and eat Kobe Beef (ie have the time and money), do it. You won't regret it.

Eating Wagyu Beef was like eating a Marshmallow piece of meat. A little firm to begin with, but the flavor coats your mouth as you chew it.
