Hey gang! I've put together some tips and tricks for new and returning players. Below is a link to get some up-to-date maps, and how to install them. It's quick and easy! Be sure to comment and let me know any nifty tips and tricks I may have left out!

EverQuest Maps: http://www.eqmaps.info/eq-map-files/

HOW TO INSTALL:
- Download the ZIP file of the maps
- Unzip the contents
- Locate where EverQuest installed on your computer; typically the “C:\users\public\Everquest” folder.
** Steam Users: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Everquest F2P" **
- Create a new folder called Brewall under Everquest’s map folder (e.g. C:\users\public\Everquest\maps\Brewall)
- Copy the unzipped map files to this folder.
- Start EQ and login with one of your characters
- Open your map window, in the upper left corner, you should see a dropdown box. Select Brewall.

EverQuest Tips:

Tab Target Key - Alt + O to open game options, go to the "Keys" tab, select "Target" from the drop down menu and find "Target nearest NPC" and bind that to the 'Tab' key. (this is totally optional of course)

Shift-Up - After you have sent a tell, typed a command or typed anything for that matter you can simply hit [Enter] and shift + up to bring up what you last typed. You can continue to do this and it will bring up the history of everything that you have typed.

Alt key - This can be very handy and a big time saver. When you hold down your alt key it will display the name of whatever your mouse is hovered over. You can see your buffs, items from a vendor, items in your bags, or bank.

Shift + B - This is an easy way to open all of your bags at once. It's a good idea to open all your bags and place them where you want them to open. Then you can get in the habit of always hitting Shift + B. Use the method above and hover your mouse over items the bag. This allows you to read all your items are and helps you save a tone of time.

/rewind - EQ has been around for awhile now, that being said, the game has tons of glitches. If you ever find yourself stuck in a cliff, rock or wall you can always type /rewind. As you can imagine, this can be handy for other glitches as well.

/TT - This allows you to tell your target. Instead of typing /tell [character] you can simply click on them if you're in the zone and type /TT.

/RT - If someone has sent you a tell and you want to target them to invite them to a group and what have you, you can always type /RT.

/[Space]→[Enter] - If you're curious of who is in the zone your in, instead of typing /who all you can just simply type / and enter.

Macros - There are a ton of macros you can create! "/who" "-/assist" "-/merc?" etc. Use 'em!

Orgin: At level 5 every class gets the "Orgin" ability. This is very nice for classes who do not get a "Gate" spell. It will port you back to Creasent Reach or your starting city.

Banestrike: As you level up your toon you will get an AA ability called "Banestrike". The ability is a fee free direct damage nuke with a decent cool down time. You get this upon killing 50 or 100 specific mobs. (ex. When you kill 100 skeletons you now have a banestrike against skeletons. You will know when you have gotten this ability to use Banestrike upon whatever said mob type by receiving an achievement.)
