Megalodons are sea monsters believed to have existed over 25 million years ago. While some scientists agree that they're long gone, most skeptics believe they still roam the earth's waters. You wouldn't blame them much because there is compelling evidence that suggests that they haven't moved a morsel. For some reason, they could be hiding, but these ten sightings may prove that the Megalodon still exists. Join the countdown as I begin with number 10…
10. An Unverified Attack
Most of what we know about the megalodon sightings are based on speculations and not verifiable data. This one in this video isn't an exception. This may not be an actual sighting, but the experience comes close to what we read in books and see in videos. A few years ago, the picture of a beached whale broke the internet. Not only are these kinds of photos rare, but there's also something that makes them stand out. Its entire tail is missing as though another animal bit it off. The most shocking of it all is that you can see sharp marks around the bitten area.
We're not talking about a tiny sea creature that can be a pushover in the sea. This is about a 70-foot humpback whale that is one of the largest animals in the ocean. As far as we're concerned, there's only one possible culprit. Even if killer whales or Orcas are guilty of such endeavors, it is unclear if they can take up a whale of that magnitude. Therefore, the Megalodon may have stealthily done this one.

9. Unusually young teeth
This is yet another sighting that would do a good job convincing you that the Megalodon is somewhere in the depths of the sea. This one has to do with the HMS Challenger, a former small British warship converted into the first dedicated oceanographic ship. It had its microscopes, laboratories, and other scientific equipment onboard. The scientists' duty was to discover new animal species, especially those that live at the bottom of the sea.
While dredging a sea bed in Tahiti in 1875, they found a pair of megalodon teeth. After analysis, they realized it was between 10,000-15,000 years old, contrary to beliefs that this animal went extinct over 1.5 million years ago. If this discovery is anything to go by, it means that this animal has lived far longer than scientists thought. If they existed 10,000 years ago, the chances of roaming around the world's oceans are high. The only challenge is finding and filming them.

8. The Google map sighting
Since its inception, Google maps have captured the most bizarre locations ever. It helps us find strange stuff we never believe exists. One time, it showed a picture of something that supposedly looked like a Kraken. While people were amazed at the possibilities of this animal's existence, they later realized that the image was a rock. There are other cases where there's a discovery on the map, and regardless of how scientists try to explain it, it is far beyond them.
This footage was captured somewhere in the Bahamas. You can see the silhouette of a giant fish. How are we confident that the animal is colossal? We know because the image was taken by satellites orbiting the earth. It takes only a large animal to feature on this footage. Could it be a whale shark? If no, what are the possibilities of it being any other animal? Well, if you look closely, you'd realize that the image is far from the description of a whale shark. It may be premature to declare it as a megalodon, but the chances that this is the case are high.

7. David Stead and the giant fish
Australian naturalist David Stead shared an unusual experience in his book Sharks and Rays of the Australian seas. Many people believe the story describes an encounter the author had with a shark. He spoke with several crayfish fishermen who were so scared of a shark they encountered in Broughton islands that they refused to return there for many days. They claimed to have seen an animal of an unbelievable magnitude.
