These bullets are filled with thousands of tiny sensors, enabling this .50-caliber bullet to change its direction after it is fired. Just how amazing is that! This means that even a clumsy shooter could aim like a professional, unlike in the past when shooting was only accurate if the target was static. This invention could easily navigate and hit a moving object. Before the manufacture of this advanced slug, rocket-propelled missiles were used for such specific actions. However, they were pretty expensive. Although the price is yet to be known, they would inevitably be affordable compared to the rocket-propelled missiles.
The company in charge of the production of these bullets is called DARPA, and they work in collaboration with a military contractor called Teledyne Technologies and ammunition maker Orbital ATK. The mechanism behind the shell changing its direction after being released is yet to be disclosed by DARPA. Nevertheless, a competing effort from the Department of Energy's Sandia's labs said that a laser is used to indicate the target while the small fin-like structures on the body of the bullet steer it in flight.

This device is also called the "sea hunter." So many words, right? Ok, let us think of it as a water-based drone that oversees all affairs in the water, especially submarines. These drones can efficiently track submarines for months without breaking down. There also would be no need for shifts among defense officials once this invention is launched. More so, the ACTUV travels through narrow channels and shipping traffic with the help of sonar, radar, and other synthetic vision systems installed in it.

This most anticipated science-fiction weapon is almost a reality. Lasers are primarily used in movies and TV series, and many cannot help but wonder if they truly exist.
