1186: Capcom vs. SNK Pro \\ Dreamcast \\ Sakura, Rugal; too tired 4 special moves, how 2 win??6$SGh
Trying to play the team of Sakura Kasugano and Rugal Bernstein in Arcade Mode of Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro on Dreamcast, SNK Groove, on 8/8 difficulty!
Except I was somehow so exhausted I couldn't even do special moves and it really didn't go well. : PPPP
I should probably NOT stay up all night for the third weekend in a row this weekend. ^ D^
My Capcom vs. SNK Pro playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZO3OPzPjIzM6u81FpiqDNhPui1zlFRrZ
0:00 - start
1:10 - fighting
19:30 - boss
36:35 - swapped order to fireball Boxer 'p'
38:29 - ending, credits, wrap...
Didn't have the energy to mash Sakura's throw on Boxer so many times. ;-D
Somewhere in there I musing about maybe having the manual (just checked--I do!) and thinking I could see if it mentions how the game determines which bosses you face (chance based on the SNK/Capcom character ratio points in your team, it seems), but that was me forgetting I own the Japanese version--and that on DC there was ONLY a Japanese version--so any explanation would be in Japanese.
The English version of the non-Pro manual and the PS1 Pro manual (hm I might have THAT manual too come to think of it) are all over the internet (googled capcom vs snk pro manual) and don't mention it, oh and a scan of the Japanese manual is on segaretro.org and doesn't mention it as far as I can tell from skimming through with Google's Translate Android app. So I guess I'll finally submit it to GameFAQs as a tip.

Here's another thing I've found recently: if the image you submit to YouTube for a custom thumbnail on your video is smaller--vertically--than 720p, they'll show a very blurry version of it in embedded instances of the video. So I'm uploading all thumbnail images at at LEAST 720p now, just to be on the safe side; if my source image for them is smaller than 720p, I multiply it up (200%, 300, whatever gets there) with "Nearest Neighbor" resampling in Photoshop until it gets over 1080p (just to be safe 'p'). That may also mess with the SIZE at which they show it, if the image ratio of the embedded video frame differs from the video's actual ratio: smaller, blurrier thumbs are scaled to fix in an embedded video's frame, with top or side bars if necessary, but bigger, crisper ones seem to display at full frame height no matter what, so a 16:9 thumb will have its sides cut off in a 4:3 embed smart frame. Weird! But whatever! Gimme those big crisp pixels YouTube!
Oh hang on--okay if I download my own 1080p+ thumb back from YouTube Studio, it gives it to me at 720p--same max res at which they let you download your videos. I wonder if that means I'd get crisper embed thumbs if I uploaded thumbs specifically at 720p? But I pretty much only have that--without resorting to some destructive variety of resampling--for the rare videos actually recorded in 720p, ie VF5FS, these days--and if I'm using a thumbnail of a full-frame image from the video, rather than a cropped portion. Well, I guess I'll upload those rare thumbs at 720p then. Won't surprise me if they eventually start low-rezzifying 720p thumbs too though; after all, they've already decided 720p no longer qualifies for the "HD" tag on their videos.
YouTube currently recommends 720p thumbnails, but they also say on the same page https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/72431 "your custom thumbnail image should be as large as possible"--but then they also say there's a 2MB limit. So are you saying I should multiply my image up to as large a size as will come in under 2MB, YouTube??? : P
I mean hmmrrr probably I'd be better off--for NOW--sizing my thumbnail to 720p exactly myself and giving it a little sharpening if it wasn't a sub-720p thumb that I scaled up with Nearest Neighbor--which results in some pixel distortion.
But I also don't know if they resample from the original or 720p for smaller thumb sizes... Hm okay a small YouTube thumb from a pre-sharpened 720p thumb looks sharper than one from a 1080p+ thumb. OKAY FINE I'll have to upload all thumbs at 720p now. GOSH.
