The developers of Mortal Shell, Cold Symmetry, describe this very-ambitious-for-a-small-indie-team game as a "ruthless and deep action-RPG that tests your sanity and resilience", with your survival demanding "super awareness, precision and instincts". They say it is "made for battle-hardened soulslike fans" with "vindictive design, assembled with spite". It is now out of beta and in open release on the Epic Games Store for £25, where it is exclusive on PC until 2021. This is my longplay of the game, minus a couple of sections where I farmed up some Tar, the game's soulsian currency.
