Let's Play The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (PC | HD | Vanilla)

#13: aka Favors for Orcs

Before beginning work on the second set of orders from Caius, we do the regular bartering & training to get yet another 5x END multiplier; before long, we shall be the toughest Dunmer that Vvardenfell has ever known! And since we need some extra coin (damn broke after all that training!), I decide to act upon an entertaining thought from last time: gather all the dwemer cogs from Arkngthand and transport them back to Balmora for sale! It's not quite as daunting as it sounds, since I empty my inventory enough to carry 5 at once; then it's just a matter of grouping them and leap frogging them across the ground until they all meet in the center, then picking them all up for a final Recall back to Balmora.

After the great cog adventure, it's time to chat with Sharn gra-Muzgob, a Mage's Guild orc who, despite having an unhealthy interest in the dark arts according to Caius, insists quite strongly that she is NOT a necromancer, and yet she wishes us to retrieve the Skull of Llevule Andrano from the Andrano Ancestral Tomb... I'm not the only one raising my eyebrow here, right? Sharn says that the native Dunmer practice religious necromancy, which explains all the walking dead that can be found in any Ancestral Tomb: family. But does that mean... yes; every Sunday the family gets together at the Tomb with Grandma Bonewalker and Grandpa Skeleton Archer to have a meditation and prayer session amongst the whispering pits of the dead. Splendid!

Err, does no one else find it unsettling to be rummaging through the sacred resting places of some unknown family's ancestors?! Surely the spirits will retaliate in anger! And not to mention... bad karma, man. Ah screw it; I already wiped a couple out anyway, and they can always resurrect their favorite uncle later. The Skull is easy to locate in one of the rooms near the end of the Tomb, which isn't very large; Sharn will be grateful and complete the deal by giving us some lengthy notes about the Nerevarine Cult. Interesting information, and Caius will surely appreciate.

-------------

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (2002) is still one of the best immersive open world RPGs to this day. Vvardenfell is a strange world brought to life with massive amounts of lore and detail, so richly and lovingly assembled by Bethesda's team! It was way ahead of it's time, and quite the ambitious project. Even now, nothing compares, and fans of the series will most likely agree that Morrowind has something that both Oblivion and Skyrim lack - that sense of immersion, adventure, and a world so alive and unique that no other experience could ever touch the first time one goes down the rabbit hole.

We were also gifted the amazing Construction Set, to build and create any modification to the game that we could dream of (almost). There are still countless fans creating mods to this day, and breathing life into this historic game, for all to enjoy, veterans and newcomers alike. The legacy of Morrowind shall live on forever! However this is a vanilla playthrough, and I have no need for much more than some fixes.
