Pop stars entertain us daily with their music, and impress us with their incredible talent. But some of these artists also try their hand at other forms of entertainment. Specifically, voice-work in animated movies. Musicians such as Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Beyonce are just a few of the artists who have tried their hand at voice acting. You may think that the transition wouldn’t be too difficult. These singers are extremely gifted vocalists after all. However, there are many new challenges one must face when voicing a character for an animated film. Which pop star had to learn an American Accent for her role? And which artist had to focus on not being monotone in her recordings? The amount of work that goes into these roles will surprise you. It’s not as easy as just showing up one day and recording. Although some find the overall experience easier than others.
We applaud all of these musicians for trying voice acting. Diving into a new medium isn’t easy, which makes it all the more impressive when they nail their role. Some of them really prove themselves as multi-talented artists, who we can see doing more voice work in the future. A lot of them also provide their singing chops for their respective movie's soundtrack. In some cases, the songs they record achieve mainstream success, with some of them even reaching the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
