This is the SCDF public warning system sounding the important message signal (also Emergency Broadcast System). Important Message Signal is sounded when there is terror attacks, or major emergencies. Whenever you hear the Important Message Siren, tune in immediately to any Mediacorp radio stations or free-to-air Mediacorp TV channels. The message is from Singapore Civil Defence Force. Important Message signal is also sounded through SGSecure app on the mobile phones that are not in vibration or mute mode. This "Important Message" Signal is sounded during the Formula 1's first practice in Singapore. It was on Mediacorp Channel 5.

This does NOT affect the F1 drivers and spectators watching the F1 in Marina Bay.
