And the game just keeps on ending.
So: I hint at it, but don't think I state outright, that while I enjoy these games for what they are, there's no reason to expect them to become classics. They do some things well, I would argue the battle design alone makes these games greatly underrated, but the pacing kind of falls apart here and there. I'm fine with that, but I want to acknowledge some of the shortcomings. I felt that the story sort of flew apart at the end - none of my interpretations checked out with the events. Was I on point with my Xenogears Disc 2 theory, that they just had much more planned, scrapped a ton, and the scrapped content had some key story points that would've given me the information I needed to make sense of it all? I suppose I'll never know.
I also didn't 'get' the moment where I first felt that the Sisters were just trolling us with their lewding on MC-kun, but I instead noticed more strongly how far they pushed themselves when Haku split them up, as well as... something, when they sang their eulogy for Yamato. I still maintain that the strength of character writing is the strongest point of the last two games (less so in Prelude to the Fallen, IMO), but that hinges on the player actually seeing likeable, redeeming features in the cast. Hits and misses, let's leave it at that.

I'm now rushing through a New Game + to see whether something changes, also chasing down that final Glossary entry (... and, to be honest, some entries for Co-op Finals). I'll drop in a bonus episode if something pops up - otherwise, the next video you see will be from Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, straight from the OG non-Pro Playstation 4.

(Also: Happy *PROPER* Labour Day - sod USA and your silly Commie scares.)

UPDATE 220430:
I have now finished a playthrough with Hard difficulty, and there were no real changes. And no new Glossary entry was unlocked, besides the Co-Op Finals I managed to get... Oh well. No bonus episode, then. (Note that the fight against the Yatanawarabe in a group, and the final boss, are really challenging on Hard, but it should all be manageable as long as you bring your A-game.) On to the next LP!
