This session looks at Richard Overy’s latest book Blood and Ruins, which aims to recast the view of the Second World War and its aftermath. In this session, Overy argues that World War II is the “last imperial war,” and discusses the war from a global perspective, taking a broader focus looking past the military conflicts between opposing sides.
