This is my first time solving this particular size of cube. Before this the WR on a simulated 15x15x15 was 57:59 by Richard Carr, so this is a big improvement. According to qCube I used 6379 moves at 2.94 moves/second. This video is sped up to 4 times normal speed.

Solving cubes above 11x11x11 on the keyboard is tricky because of handshifting. Solving the centers requires being able to move every possible number of layers, and on cubes larger than 11x11x11 there are more types of layers than possible hand positions. This means that up to the 11x11x11 you can solve all of the centers without ever doing handshifting, but on larger cubes you have to change hand position very often, and it's harder to keep track of what's going on. Lately I've been working up to solving the 20x20x20 again by starting with the 12x12x12 and going up from there, doing every cube in between and hopefully breaking all the records as I go. So far I've done the 12 in 21:04, the 13 in 25:45, the 14 in 31:07, and now the 15 in 36:11.

If you're wondering, I still think centers last is the best technique for solving very large cubes on mouse simulators (although I do know a somewhat more efficient way to do it than I used on the 20x20x20 video from 2007). But the keyboard controls are really optimized for reduction style solving, so I'm sticking to that method for keyboard simulators, even though the recognition and hand shifting both become harder and harder as the size of the cube increases.
