Valisthea is a world divided by six nations. It is powered by Crystals and Dominants, which are humans that host each nation's Eikon. Tensions between the nations escalate as a magical drought dubbed the Blight begins consuming the land. Clive Rosfield, guardian to his younger brother, Joshua, witnesses his kingdom destroyed and becomes involved in the growing conflict between Valisthea's nations and the secret power behind the war tied to the dark Eikon Ifrit.
Clive has faced his path and come to accept the grim truth of that night thirteen years ago. Having discovered a new meaning of life, he and Jill resolve to return to the Hideaway. But their new faith may yet face its first obstacle; an example of human cruelty.
