Shintani Masamichi, Yagami's mentor from three years ago, has requested Yagami's assistance in defending his latest client, the Matsugane Family Captain, Hamura Kyohei, from a murder charge. The Yakuza claims innocence, but his alibi is left unconfirmed since no one has come forward to corroborate. As a Detective, it is Yagami's job to investigate and procure evidence of the truth, but it might not be as simple as proving the client's innocence.
