180 Million Years Old Fossils in Jaisalmer | Fossils in India
About 180 million years ago Jaisalmer used to be under a sea , and these stones date back to that period. As they emerge from the heart of the earth, these stones contains numerous minerals and remnants of fossils.
In this video we discuss about the fossils that I found, these include a fossilized ammonite , sea worm fossils , brachiopod and a habur stone which contains several different fossils
These fossils were found in Habur, 50 kilometres (km) from Jaisalmer and over 600 km from the state capital Jaipur.
Initial research on the Habur stone has revealed that it contains amino acids, phenylalanine, tryptophan and tyrosine.
Habur stone is known to turn milk into curd without a starter. The Habur stone, as it is called, is golden yellow-brown and bears exquisite naturally-formed patterns; anything made of it is both functional as well as artistic.
