In the video you will be watching a specai car that i created in Automation Game, The 1923 Bugatti Type 32 Tank Car.

The Type 32 was designed originally to compete in the 1923 French Grand Prix, which Bugatti so desperately wanted to win. This was a very tough race, as the cars averaged about 75 miles per hour for a full 500 miles. Allegedly, Bugatti built four Tanks
(although noted Bugatti historian H.G. Conway claims it was five–and he’s probably right)
to compete against the Fiats, Sunbeams, Voisins, and a lone Delage. In the end, the Sunbeam won, as its two-liter twin-cam, straight-six engine out-powered the Bugatti’s two-liter straight-eight engines; the Tank’s highest placing was third.

Bugatti’s engine was a creative masterpiece. It was a straight-eight, single-overhead-cam design that had a 60-mm bore with a long 88-mm stroke, for a total displacement of 1,996 cc. It featured two intake valves and one exhaust valve per cylinder, and the block and head were cast as one, from iron. There were actually two inline-four-cylinder blocks mated with a common crankshaft that spun in three large ball bearing races; the big-end bearing was made of the standard white metal. The connecting rods were case-hardened nickel, but most unusual was that they rode on caged roller bearings instead of the typical plain sleeve bearings.

The chassis was very low to the ground as the front and rear axles were positioned on top of the frame. The three-speed gearbox was integrated with the differential, which gave the little Tank excellent balance. And it was little, as the wheelbase was only 79 inches, or four inches less than that of a Triumph Spitfire.

Accenting the Type 32’s odd shape, the flat, sloping front body panel incorporated a vertical oval opening that was a simplified version of Bugatti’s “horse-collar” radiator shape. The engine lid was nothing more than a flat sheet of aluminum that featured 20 wide louvers. As to the starter handle, it must have been permanently attached, as every photo we’ve ever seen of a Tank, including those Type 32s in action on the race track, had the starter handle sticking out.

During that French Grand Prix of 1923 one Tank was destroyed in an accident, while another was given to notable Bugatti driver Elizabeth Junek. Today, nearly 100 years after they were built, just one of the original Type 32 Tanks exists. It was rescued back in the early 1960s by the Schlumpf brothers, Fritz and Hans, who placed it in their incredible car collection, which totaled some 500 of the rarest European road and racing cars, 120 of which were Bugattis. Today it’s called The Schlumpf Collection of the National Automobile Museum, located in Mulhouse, France, which is about six miles from the border of Germany.
