Welcome to Sharka's TechBytes! This a series to complement my other Bytes series' and will focus on cool and interesting stuff like tech demos, promos, and demo disc specials.

I've cleaned up and upscaled this footage clipped from an episode of Famitsu Game Catalog featuring the June 1994 Tokyo Toy Special. There are a couple of firsts at this show, including the first public demonstration of the Sega Saturn hardware. SegaRetro.org reports that the machine itself wasn't ready to be demonstrated with a shell and even the Virtua Fighter playable demo was a bit of a hack job! It wasn't the only machine at the show held together by string and prayer, tho.
