1This is a 1 credit clear of the arcade game, Double Dragon, created by Technös in 1987.
The grandaddy of the belt scrolling beat 'em up, that was very innovative for it's time as you could pick up weapons dropped by the enemies. I know Renegade came before but that game was set in special scenarios, while Double Dragon felt like a movie, or adventure, where you set out alone, or with a buddy, to battle the evil gang that had kidnapped your loved one.
I remember seing this game for the first time during the summer of 1989 at the age of 10. It was my neighbour who was playing it on his C64 and the whole concept absolutely blew my mind!? I was very into martial arts movies, as they were all the craze at the time, and being able to play a game in that kind of style was very exciting for me.
