18The key thing that separates Summoners from other spellcasters is their ability to call upon the aid of an Outsider known as an Eidolon. Unlike many other summoned creatures, an Eidolon is entirely unique to the Summoner and may undergo a wide variety of changes as the Summoners increases in knowledge and power.
Given this wide ranging adaptability of an entire suite of forms and abilities, it can be hard for novice Summoners to know exactly how to shape these incredibly powerful allies.
