Hisouten duo focused party.

The final battle against the Murakumo. Harnessing light and darkness, it's fairly different from the 20f enhanced fight. The right Arm primarily utilizes DRK physical attacks and maximum HP reducing attacks. The left Arm primarily utilizes SPI magical attacks and debuffs. Murakumo itself plays more of a support role, draining MP and utilizing new TP draining techniques, as well as the usual heinous moves like Black Universe and Time-Space Warp. Attacking Murakumo will result in it performing a devastating SPI + DRK element counter. When an Arm is defeated, the counter is weakened, and the corresponding element is removed from it. With both Arms defeated, Murakumo will only perform a measly Direct Attack as a counter. However, Murakumo will revive Arms that are defeated, so it's necessary to continually defeat them through the whole fight. It takes longer for Murakumo to revive an Arm each time, so the general idea is to pulverize an Arm repeatedly, then attack Murakumo while the Arm is down.

There's another incentive to defeating the Arms besides reducing the strength of Murakumo's counter. The Arms operate on a set AI routine that progresses to increasingly more dangerous attacks, an AI routine that is reset every time the Arm is defeated. The Right Arm in particular will use Scythe of Calamity on its 6th action, True Greatsword of Calamity on its 8th action, and a 40%+ version of World-Shaking Military Rule on its 10th action, followed by Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi's Wild Dance on its 11th action. This makes it incredibly dangerous in comparison to the Left Arm, which merely uses powerful MT magical attacks and then grants itself a +100% MAG buff on its 10th action, which is mostly wasted on its weak Curse attacks and Storm of Light Particles.

Thus, the key to this fight is keeping the Right Arm down as much as possible, as maximum HP reduction is incredibly dangerous in a fight as prolonged and resource intensive as this. Murakumo will also use Yakumo's Futsu no Mitami no Tsurugi every set number of turns. It heals 1% of its HP per 1 MP drained. The first time it's used isn't a big deal, as the Arms are still the top priority, but by the second time it's used, it's possible for Murakumo to heal over 40% of its HP if a full MP character was brought to the leftmost slot. This naturally has to be avoided as well, as it considerably prolongs the fight.

All in all, this boss is the most difficult one yet, and by a considerable margin at that. A splendid challenge appropriate for the final enhanced form of the base game's final boss.
