2 Player Wii Sports Smackdown - All 5 Games
Wii Sports by Nintendo
Released in 2006 as the first sports game to be launched with a Nintendo console since Mario's Tennis for Virtual Boy, by 2017 the game had sold 82 million copies.
Nintendo's drive for pushing their console to be a daily used household appliance, as well as present itself as a more accessible platform to everyone, chose to launch the console with what is arguably the most accessible and widely played Wii title.
The game consists of five sports games: Tennis, Baseball, Bowling, Golf and Boxing. Each game used the Wii's innovative motion controls to drive play, such that to swing a bat in game, you had to swing your Wiimote like a bat.
With other innovations such as allowing you to bring your custom Mii with you via Wiimote to your friend's house, keeping track of performance stats, and the goal of achieving pro status in your favorite game, Wii Sports is a classic and still a great game by today's standards.
