20 DOS Adventure Games You Should Play
107Struggling to figure out where to start with DOS adventure games? There's hundreds of adventure games, loads of which go all the way back to the old MS-DOS PC (and earlier). For the most part, people will claim that the MS-DOS era of the late 80s and early 90s was the pinnacle for the point and click adventure game. Seems like a great place for the adventure game beginner to start.

I've wanted to put together a "DOS games for beginners" series for a while and I have a post-it stuck to my monitor saying "DOS Adventure Games for Beginners" and this was the most perfect opportunity to work with a channel I love and to finally tick that idea off the list. If you're an adventure game beginner, wondering where to start with the whole DOS adventure games, I think these 20 games represent the widest spread of the gamut of DOS adventure games. Of course there's tons missing. We didn't want to plaster the list with LucasArts and Sierra adventure games. There were plenty of great developers making adventure games in the DOS era. We really wanted to showcase the variety a beginner can gleam from these DOS games.
