#20 Metroid Prime Trilogy (A Friend's Advent_ #shorts
A Friend's Advent - a whole month of cool things worth talking about!
This is a short extract of a channel that provides retrospective analysis of popular culture (video games, books, comics, movies), trying to understand how our taste in entertainment has changed over the last few decades. In these videos look at topics such as the history behind their creation, the cultural impact they had on the wider world or just celebrate high watermarks - experiences that deserve to be celebrated. In 2018 video gaming became the worlds single most popular form of entertainment however that does not mean other forms are dead or deserve to be forgotten. We have been fortunate enough to reap the benefits of an evolving industry that learns from both it's successes and mistakes - and I've been learning as a consumer. This series is designed to celebrate and share important milestones and significant releases; be they good or bad.

From Wikipedia:
Metroid Prime: Trilogy is a compilation of action-adventure games developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the Wii. It features three games from the Metroid series: Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Prime and Echoes, which were originally developed on the GameCube in the early 2000s, were updated with many of the features that were first implemented in Corruption, such as a new control scheme based on the Wii Remote and a credits system that was supported by WiiConnect24.
The compilation was first announced by Nintendo in May 2009, and was released in North America in August 2009, followed by its European and Australian releases in September and October respectively. It was not released in Japan because the ports of Prime and Echoes were released as standalone games in the New Play Control! series in that region. In January 2010, Nintendo discontinued the Metroid Prime: Trilogy in both North America and Australia.
Metroid Prime: Trilogy was acclaimed by critics, with praise for the new controls, updated presentation, achievement system and value. It was later re-released digitally on the Wii U's Nintendo eShop in January 2015.
