2014 NFL DRAFT | Pro Comparisons | Top 5 Corner Backs | Justin Gilbert
Sleeper: Marcus Roberson of the Florida Gators reminds me of Carey Williams of the Philadelphia Eagles a lot. Both are aggressive corners, underrated, and can play both man and zone well.
5th: Stanley Jean-Baptiste of the Nebraska Cornhuskers reminds me of a much rawer Richard Sherman. Both are converted wide receivers and both are monsters at the corner position. I think Jean-Baptiste has a very high ceiling in regards to how far he can progress at the pro game.
4th: Bradley Robey of the Ohio State Buckeyes reminds me of Ladarius Webb of the Baltimore Ravens. Both are very underrated tacklers and have very high football IQ.
3rd: Jason Verrett of the TCU Horned Frogs reminds me of Brandon Flowers of the Kansas City Chiefs. They are both playmakers when the ball is in the air and have underrated tackling skill.
2nd: Darqueze Dennard of the Michigan State Spartans reminds me of a less polished Joe Haden of the Cleveland Browns. I think Dennard is less athletic than Haden but their coverage skills and first contact at the line are eerily similar. I expect big things from Dennard his rookie year.
1st: Justin Gilbert of the Oklahoma State Cowboys reminds me of a in form Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie of the Denver Broncos. Obviously not of the DRC of his Philadelphia Eagle days, but this season with the Broncos DRC was elite, and I see Gilbert in his game. Both are lightning fast and Gilbert will be one of the better man corners for years to come.
