2017 Mercedes E class All Terrain Off Road Wagon Spied
0Mercedes-Benz is about to launch a crossover-tinged version of the 2017 E-class station wagon. Modeled after the Audi Allroad Quattro, the new derivative will be called All Terrain.
Set to make its debut at the Paris auto show this fall, the E-class All Terrain is differentiated from the regular E-class wagon by its greater ride height, unpainted cladding around the wheel arches and on the lower body, as well as redesigned front and rear bumpers. A 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system will be standard, and the vehicle will be offered with several gasoline and diesel engines. No AMG derivatives are planned.
Mercedes-Benz says that the vehicle will go relatively far off the road—but there won’t be any special equipment beyond the higher ground clearance and off-road software. We also hear that the interior will remain largely unchanged; Mercedes is not planning specific color-and-trim options to complement the All Terrain’s more-rugged exterior design.
