2019: The Year The Comic Community Nearly Broke Me
19This has been a rough year for everyone! Myself included. And while I go over things that happened this year, the bulk of the video is about the Comics Twitter Community.
No not just Comicsgate or Anti-Comicsgate, or WarCampaign. But the whole package. The year started with high hopes, if a few rough patches, and by the halfway mark, everything was at each others throats!
My biggest issue is...I'm on neither side of this debate. I'm on my own side. I make my own observations on what's going on and come to my own conclusions.
But apparently that's not enough these days. You either have to pick a side, denounce a side, if you say something that doesn't follow what the group says, they will act like they know where you truly stand! And you can't make observations cause deep down you're just being manipulative and you're just too stupid to realize that!
That's what my year has been! I've gone from having a list of people I felt comfortable talking with and having fun...to having it down to a handful, maybe two handful worth of people.
This is not what Comicsgate was meant to be about. And it's going down a path I feel it never should have gone down. And that's made this year so much of an emotional roller coaster.
