2021 Zephyrus G15 PROBLEMS - What to expect and how to fix
249In this video, we take a look at my 3 Month + review of using the ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503 as my daily driver. Unfortunately, all is not smooth with this device, and I detail some issues I have using this gaming laptop from a Content Creator standpoint. If you planning to record Video Games or stream Video Games with this device - there are some issues that I describe in this video. I output some workarounds and fixes as well

OBS Findings/Fix
TLDR - the best setting I found with this device is to use a USB C DONGLE - to allow for HDMI or DP output.
Afterwards - set OBS to be High Performance to capture output from the dGPU
Note: If you use the HDMI port built-in you will notice that Nvidia Optimus does not allow you to capture the HDMII output. You will have to use OBS and Window Capture or Game Capture.
Settings: Even with using the dGPU (3070) I was still only able to get sustainable output of Playing Video Games + Recordings by setting OBS to 1080p @ 30 FPS (60 FPS possible depending on game)
